Ancient Maya Stela C of Quirigua and the Hero Twins

Another in a series of videos touring the ancient Maya stelas in the San Diego Museum of Man. Here Dr. Van Stone describes the front of Stela K, from AD 805, the last monument carved at Quirigua before the Maya Collapse depopulated the city. The king, grandson of the conqueror K’ak’ Tiliw, wears the standard ceremonial regalia, with some really GREAT shoes!
